Written statement
Global Sponsor Hub operates an online matching service. Where the UK Right to Work Scheme applies, Global Sponsor Hub requires the following terms to be included in its contract with every specialist (service provider) it matches with requesters: section 5 of the Specialist Request Terms, clauses 5.1 to 5.11 below. These terms form part of each specialist's contract with Global Sponsor Hub and apply before any work or services start.
5.1 When this section applies
This section applies only to an "In-scope UK Engagement". That means work or services that you agree, on or after 1 October 2026, to provide to a requester you were matched with through Global Sponsor Hub, where any of that work or those services are carried out in the UK by an individual (you, if you personally do the work, or anyone who works for you or for someone you engage). It does not apply to work or services carried out wholly outside the UK. Where the work is done depends on where the person doing it is when they do it, not where the requester is. For example, advice you give by phone, video or email while you are located outside the UK is not carried out in the UK, even if the requester is in the UK. Work you or your staff do while located in the UK, including remote work from a UK base, is carried out in the UK, even if the requester is abroad. If you are not sure whether an engagement is in scope, treat it as in scope or ask us at support@globalsponsorhub.com.
5.2 Right to work checks
Before any individual starts work on an In-scope UK Engagement, you must carry out a prescribed right to work check on them, as set out in the Home Office employer's guide to right to work checks in force at the time. That means a manual document check, a Home Office online check, or a check using a registered Right to Work digital verification service provider. You must also carry out any follow-up checks the guide requires, keep the records for as long as the guide requires, and carry out checks in the same way for everyone, whatever their nationality, including British and Irish citizens, without discrimination.
5.3 No subcontracting without our written consent
You must not subcontract an In-scope UK Engagement, or arrange for another business to supply the individuals who carry it out, unless Global Sponsor Hub has agreed in writing first. If we agree, you must make sure that business carries out prescribed right to work checks on every individual it uses, and that your contract with it includes right to work terms equivalent to this section 5. To ask for consent, email support@globalsponsorhub.com with the subcontractor's name, address and company number (if any) and the work involved.
5.4 Audits
Whenever Global Sponsor Hub asks, you must let us (or someone acting for us) check that you are complying with clauses 5.2 and 5.3. This may include giving us, within 10 working days, confirmation of which checks were done for named individuals, copies of check records where lawful and proportionate, details of any subcontractors and our consent to them, and answers to reasonable questions. We will only ask for what we reasonably need and will handle personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law.
5.5 Suspension and termination
If we know, or have reasonable cause to believe, that an individual has worked illegally on an In-scope UK Engagement and you were not excused under the Home Office rules (for example because the required check was not done), or that you have broken this section 5, we may: suspend your listing; stop offering you requests; stop you accepting requests; remove you from the directory; and end your agreement with Global Sponsor Hub. Where it is lawful and practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first.
5.6 Your contracts with individuals
Your contract with each individual who carries out work on an In-scope UK Engagement must let you take action against them, such as suspension or ending the contract, where you know or have reasonable cause to believe they are working illegally.
5.7 Co-operating with the Home Office
If the Home Office investigates possible illegal working connected with an In-scope UK Engagement, you must co-operate by giving the Home Office: (a) how the chain of contracts down to the individual doing the work is made up, and the purpose of each contract; (b) for each business in that chain (other than the individual), its official name, whether it is a sole trader, company, partnership (and what type) or other body, its registered address or, if none, its principal place of business, and its company registration number if it has one; and (c) any other information the Home Office considers is, or may be, relevant. You must also tell Global Sponsor Hub promptly about any such investigation, unless the law prevents you.
5.8 Making sure the right person turns up
You must have proportionate systems to make sure the individual who actually carries out the work is the same individual whose right to work you checked (for example photo ID checks at the start of a job, staff ID cards, or a registered digital verification provider). If your arrangement with an individual allows them to send a substitute, the substitute must be checked before they start. You must describe these systems to us if we ask.
5.9 Your confirmation on each accepted request
Each time you accept a request that is, or may become, an In-scope UK Engagement, you confirm that you will comply with this section 5 and that everyone who carries out the work will have had a prescribed right to work check before starting.
5.10 If you personally do the work in the UK
If you are an individual (for example a sole trader) and you personally carry out work on an In-scope UK Engagement, Global Sponsor Hub may be treated as your employer under the UK Right to Work Scheme. In that case you agree to complete a right to work check with Global Sponsor Hub before you receive or accept any requests, and any follow-up check before your permission to work expires. You can choose the Home Office online service with a share code, a registered right to work digital verification provider, or, if you prefer not to use a digital check, a check of your original documents. Global Sponsor Hub runs the same check for every individual specialist in this position, whatever their nationality, including British and Irish citizens. Until the check is done we will not offer you requests.
5.11 Priority
If anything else in the Specialist Request Terms conflicts with this section 5 for an In-scope UK Engagement, this section 5 wins. Nothing in this section makes Global Sponsor Hub your employer for any other purpose.
5.12 Right to work records
Global Sponsor Hub keeps records of right to work checks it carries out, your acceptance of the Right to Work Statement and this section 5, your confirmations under clause 5.9, audits, subcontracting consents and any suspension for as long as you are listed and for 2 years after your listing ends, then deletes them securely. This overrides the 365-day review and 730-day purge in section 4 for these records only.
