Before you trust the offer
A real employer should be easy to verify through independent channels.
Sender uses the employer’s official domain; hover-check display names.
Role appears on the employer’s careers page or known ATS — or HR confirms why it doesn’t yet.
Company exists in official registries for that country (companies house / trade licence equivalents).
If sponsorship is claimed, check the relevant public sponsor / accredited employer register where one exists.
Search exact phrases from the offer letter — scam templates get reused.
Video interview faces and LinkedIn profiles are consistent with the company.
Before you pay anything
Be especially careful with urgency and fees.
Document hygiene
Share the minimum needed at each stage.
Watermark early passport copies if you must share them (‘for X company interview only’).
Never share banking passwords, one-time codes, or crypto ‘deposit’ requests.
Keep a log of who asked for what and when.
Next step
Put the resource to work
Save the roles you want to compare, confirm sponsorship details with the employer, and keep your next action visible.
