What “international hiring” usually means
Most employers mean one of four paths:
1. Sponsor and relocate a worker into your country (e.g. UK Skilled Worker, US H-1B / other petitions, Canada TFWP / LMIA-linked work, Australia sponsored visas). 2. Hire remotely in the candidate’s country (your entity, or an Employer of Record). 3. Use an agency to source internationally while you remain the employing sponsor or host entity. 4. Hybrid, remote first, then sponsorship when you need the person onshore.
Your first job is to pick the path that matches the role, destination, timeline, and compliance capacity, not to copy a competitor’s policy.
